Raleigh, NC – Raleigh police worked together on Saturday to collect food and supplies for people in need.
The project called “Fill a Cruiser” collected donations of canned food, fruit, soup, dried flakes, hygiene items and household items.
They successfully filled an entire police cruiser with donations which were then donated to the Interfaith Food Shuttle.
“The people are very enthusiastic. That’s why I love my job, ”says Kara Guido, Business Development Manager at Interfaith Food Shuttle.
“To know that we help people and make a difference,” she said.
Guido said that even children as young as 6 years old volunteered and donated to learn about giving and charity.
On Sunday, the nonprofit distributed these donations from 12pm to 4pm at the Green Road Community Center in Raleigh.
The group will distribute these donations to the families while supplies last.
