1 dead in a Memorial Day accident along Gorman Street in Raleigh

RALEIGH, NC (WNCN) – One person died in a two-vehicle accident in Raleigh on Monday afternoon, police said.

The crash was reported by Raleigh police around 12:45 p.m. along Gorman Street near Walnut Creek Parkway.

According to the Raleigh police, a vehicle crashed into the side of the other vehicle in the wreckage.

One person in one vehicle died while the occupant of the other car was uninjured, police said.

No names were published.

Police said no charges were filed but the wreck is still being investigated.

The road was closed for about two hours near the accident that occurred north of the I-40 interchange with Gorman Street.
