A new form of dirt bike racing that is gaining national popularity is coming to Raleigh County

GLEN DANIEL, WV (WOAY) – US sprint enduro dirt bike races have arrived at the Hidden Valley Mud Bog, formerly known as the Hidden Valley Golf Course, in Glen Daniel. And racing drivers of all ages and abilities from all over the country have come to these tracks to refine their craft and have fun doing it.

“It used to be a golf course that every dirt biker dreams of playing on a golf course,” says Nancy Schlag, co-founder of Sprint Enduro.

Sprint Enduro is a unique type of dirt bike race that includes two tests – the cross test and the enduro test. While in both tests the racers complete the 3-mile courses in the shortest possible time and with as few errors as possible, the enduro test is the most demanding, the real off-road test that takes them into the woods.

“Sprint Enduro is a really great format for people to get used to off-roading, even racing. If you’ve never raced before, this is a really good start, ”says Schlag.

Many professional motorcycle racers have also got into Sprint Enduro and have even traveled the world to take part in this rather unusual type of race.

“I’ve always distinguished myself in this racing style and it has taken me to Europe and different countries,” says Layne Micheal, professional motorcycle racer. “I’ve been to Slovakia, France, Spain and this year I’m actually allowed to go to Italy. That has taken me to a lot of great places.”

Whether you like cross country or motocross dirt bike racing, Sprint Enduro is a unique mix of both that is quickly becoming popular.
